"Shammar Allen and the Underdogs" came to Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan by the US Embassy for a "musical cultural event." And this was quite a cultural event for many citizens of Ust. The band went to the 2 largest cities in Kazakhstan (everyone goes there) BUT they also came to Ust. This was a very big deal!
The concert was in the "Palace of Miners Concert Hall" which is an extremely Soviet building by name and by its physical appearance.

Some of the music instruments used are not common here. Towards the end of the concert the band asked everyone to stand up (which rarely happens at the Palace of Miners) and also asked people to come up and dance in front of the stage--(this NEVER happens). What you see is from the end of the show, when they started playing covers of popular American music. For most of the show they played their own music.
